Medicare Plan G Arizona is widely considered the best choice for seniors today because it offers the most comprehensive coverage available. Because this plan covers nearly all out-of-pocket costs, it gives you total peace of mind. Specifically, you can see any doctor in the country that accepts Medicare. Furthermore, you never need a referral to see a specialist. Consequently, this makes managing your healthcare very simple and stress-free.

Medicare Plan G Arizona Plan Comparison Chart

My name is Andy Orlikoff. As an independent broker based in Surprise — and licensed in Arizona — I only focus on these specific Medigap plans. Most importantly, I do not sell Medicare Advantage plans because I believe in the freedom of choice that original Medicare provides. Therefore, my advice is always honest and unbiased. For this reason, my goal is to find you the absolute best price in the market. Consequently, your personal healthcare needs always come first.

Additionally, choosing this plan protects your retirement savings from high medical bills. For instance, you only pay a small yearly Part B deductible. After that small amount is met, the plan pays 100% of your Medicare-covered bills. As a result, you will not have to worry about surprise medical bills in the mail. This is why local seniors love this specific level of coverage.

Moreover, Arizona has a unique market for Medicare supplements. Since prices vary significantly between carriers, it is vital to shop around. However, many seniors find this process overwhelming. For this reason, I provide a clear comparison of every top-rated insurance company. This ensures you never overpay for the exact same benefits.

Peer-Reviewed Research — JAMA, February 2026

1 in 10 Medicare Advantage members were forced out of their plan for 2026.

A Johns Hopkins study in JAMA found 2.9 million people lost their Advantage plan when carriers exited markets. Once you’re off Advantage, buying Medigap usually requires medical underwriting — unless you catch a narrow guaranteed-issue window.

Why a Medigap plan instead of Medicare Advantage?

I don’t sell Medicare Advantage. That’s a deliberate choice, not an oversight.

With a Medigap plan, you can see any doctor or hospital in the country that accepts Medicare. No network. No referrals. No prior authorization fights when you need care. If you split time between Arizona and somewhere else — or you travel, or you want access to a specialist outside your county — that freedom matters.

Medicare Advantage plans often look cheaper up front. The trade-off comes later: network restrictions, prior authorizations, and out-of-pocket costs that show up exactly when you’re sick. I’d rather put you on coverage I’d give my own family.

Plan G: the plan most people end up choosing

Medigap plans are standardized by letter. A Plan G from one company covers exactly the same things as a Plan G from any other company — the only real difference is price and service. That’s why comparing carriers matters so much.

Plan G covers your Part A deductible, all Part A and B coinsurance, skilled nursing facility coinsurance, Part B excess charges, and foreign travel emergency care. The only thing you pay out of pocket is the annual Part B deductible. After that, covered services are paid in full.

Plan N is the other common choice. Lower monthly premium, but you’ll have small copays at the doctor and ER, and it doesn’t cover Part B excess charges. If you’re healthy and rarely see a doctor, it can save money. If you want predictability, Plan G usually wins.

When you can enroll — and why timing matters

Your Medigap Open Enrollment Period is a one-time, six-month window that starts the month you’re both 65 and enrolled in Part B. During those six months, no company can turn you down or charge you more because of your health history.

After that window closes, insurers in Arizona can use medical underwriting. They can review your health history and decline you or raise your rate. This is the single most important thing to understand about Medigap: waiting is not free.

If you already missed your window

You’re not out of options. You can still apply any time — the company just gets to underwrite it. Depending on your health, you may still qualify at a good rate. And certain situations create guaranteed-issue rights that reopen a protected window, like losing employer coverage. It’s worth a phone call before you assume the door is closed.

What working with me looks like

When you call, I spend about five minutes learning about your doctors, your prescriptions, and your budget. Then I go research quotes across the Medigap carriers I represent — not just one company’s price — and send you a detailed, side-by-side comparison by email. You review it on your own time, with no pressure to decide on the call.

If a Medigap plan isn’t the right fit for your situation, I’ll tell you that too. Sending someone toward the wrong product isn’t how I’ve kept this business running since 1999.

Long-Term Stability for Your Health

Stability is very important for seniors. Since all Plan G benefits are standardized by law, you can focus on the price. However, prices do change over time as you get older. For this reason, I check the Arizona market every year for my existing clients. This helps you keep the lowest rates year after year. Finally, I help you switch plans if a better price appears.
